Services

At Belkin Tutoring students are matched up with a tutor to meet their academic needs. We are staffed with tutors in most subject areas. Additionally, we offer college entrance exam (SAT/ACT) test preparation support. We pride ourselves on the tutors establishing a connection with the students. Tutors work with students to broaden and deepen their understanding of content areas. Sessions are customized to benefit the student whether it is studying for a test, clarifying content, developing executive functioning strategies, working on long term projects/papers etc. Sessions can be scheduled on a weekly standing basis or as needed (times fill up quickly, so we ask for advanced notice when possible). Our students complete sessions feeling more confident and having a better grasp of content.

Alyse Belkin works with families/parents as an academic/educational advocate for students. Her services include, but are not limited to, attending school (Ie. IEP, 504 meetings), meeting with neuropsychologists and parents to review testing, meeting with psychologists regarding school accommodations and behavior plans, meet with parents prior to conferences, help parents with written communications.

Belkin Tutoring offers enrichment programs. We customize these programs to cater to our learners. Some programs include crafts and creativity, math and literacy fun. Our preschool pods are experienced based learning. Our sessions are seasonal and we also offer mini-sessions during school breaks.

We offer group sessions. These sessions center around the content area and learning strategies. We cater to groups of students ranging from 2 - 5 students. Sessions vary from 1 -2 hours. The areas of focus also range from remediating literacy skills to Spanish and physics topics and everything in between. In August, we offer readiness programs for the upcoming school year with a review and front-loading to build confidence and reinforce skills. This is a wonderful way to address “summer slide”. Tutors effectively facilitate learning in a fun and impactful way.

More specifically, the support we provide to adults includes, but is not limited to, creating cover letters, composing emails, tutoring in adult level courses, and filling in job applications. In addition to this we provide guidance and support to parents navigating private school applications for their children. Furthermore, with all our support services we make sure deadlines are met with thorough goal setting, planning and execution.

Belkin Tutoring Professionals attend post evaluation ( neuropsychological evaluations) meetings with parents and neuropsychologists to gain an understanding of the child's neuropsychological profile. Knowing a learner's strengths and weaknesses, helps us tap into the learners' strengths to address their challenges. Additionally, Belkin Tutoring services include meeting with parents and school professionals when planning an IEP, 504, or formal educational plan for students who have a diagnosed disability. We bridge the testing to academic planning / accommodations and/or modifications at school. When Belkin Tutoring professionals are involved in the complete process, the learner benefits by leaps and bounds.
